There are common pregnancy symptoms you may experience to make you suspect you might be pregnant. In addition to missing your period, the most common signs are sore or tender breasts, nausea and vomiting, food cravings or aversions, fatigue, and mood swings.
The only way to know for sure if you are pregnant, though, is to take a pregnancy test. This measures the levels of the hormone hCG in your urine. This hormone doubles every 72 hours during the early weeks of pregnancy, so it’s best to wait at least a week after your missed period to take a pregnancy test. This will provide the most accurate result and reduce the possibility of a false negative.
